💗 A Little Update From ANW In-Home Care 💗

I wanted to take a moment to share a little update with our community about where we are in our journey.

Starting a home care business is a lot more involved than I ever imagined. While I had hoped ANW In-Home Care would be up and running sooner, there are important steps behind the scenes that I want to make sure we get right.

We are currently working toward securing the appropriate funding and financial reserves to ensure that ANW is prepared to meet the Virginia Department of Health requirements and maintain 3–6 months of operating overhead. This is important to me because I don't simply want to open our doors — I want to build a company that is stable, responsible, and here for our clients and caregivers for the long term.

I am also working diligently on strengthening my personal and business financial foundation so that ANW can start from a place of stability and continue to grow the right way.

I know that waiting can be frustrating, but I truly believe that the right things are worth doing the right way. ❤️

This isn't just a business I decided to start. It is something I feel deeply called to do. My purpose is to provide compassionate, dependable care and to make families feel confident that their loved ones are being treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion.

So while it may be taking longer than I originally planned, we are still moving forward. Every step, every application, every plan, and every challenge is bringing ANW In-Home Care closer to the vision I have for it.

Starting a business can feel lonely because people often see the dream, but they do not see the late nights, self-doubt, paperwork, sacrifices, and quiet decisions behind it.

Here is something I have learned:

You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin.

Start with what you know.
Learn what you do not know.
Ask questions.
Build relationships.
Stay consistent.
And protect the reason you started.

Your business does not need to look like anyone else’s to be successful. It only needs a strong foundation, a clear purpose, and a willingness to keep improving.

For anyone trying to build something of their own: do not let slow progress make you believe you are failing. Some of the strongest businesses are built one careful step at a time.

💠One thing every home care business owner should learn early:

You don’t grow just by getting clients. You grow by building systems.🩷🧡

A client may bring in revenue, but a system keeps your business from falling apart when things get busy‼️

A few systems every home care agency should work on:

➖️ A clear intake process
Know exactly what questions to ask when someone calls for care.

➖️ A caregiver hiring process
Don’t just hire because someone is available. Hire based on reliability, compassion, experience, and fit.

➖️ A call-out plan
Caregiver call-outs will happen. Have a backup plan before the emergency happens.

➖️ A client follow-up system
Check in regularly. Families remember how you made them feel after services start.

➖️ A documentation process
If it isn’t documented, it can easily be misunderstood later.

Home care is a heart business, but it still needs structure.

The owners who last are the ones who care deeply and build wisely.
