Over the last 3 years, there have been 40 alumni of the Ascend Twin Cities program. The Ascend Alumni of the Year award goes to a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) who has shown tremendous growth in their bid participation, contracting activity, and advocacy for other MBE’s. This year MEDA: Metropolitan Economic Development Association awards the 2023 Ascend Alumni of the Year Award to Ideal Work Solutions .

The Ascend Anchor of the Year is awarded to a corporate partner who has achieved notable growth with minority-owned businesses, especially Alumni of Ascend. This Anchor recognizes that they are an economic engine of our surrounding communities and leverages that positioning to enhance the economic conditions of those communities. This anchor not only sets aspirational goals in supplier diversity and other investments in BIPOC communities – but more importantly makes tremendous progress towards achieving and exceeding those goals. This year MEDA: Metropolitan Economic Development Association awards the 2023 Ascend Anchor of the Year award to Cargill.
