Craniosacral therapy practitioner in the making here!

Over the last week I attended an Upledger Institute craniosacral therapy 1 class, learning the foundations of this bodywork modality, basic techniques & practicing practicing practicing with my fellow learners.

I’m grateful to have another tool in my toolbox to offer clients gentle & relaxing touch during pregnancy + birth.

The final touch on preparations for baby’s arrival, the diaper change + breastfeeding caddy. Full of diapers, wipes, nursing pads, burp cloths, hand sanitizer + lotions + ointments for the both of us, snacks + gum, hair ties + chapstick.

Exciting news! A new little possum is on the way this spring!

Before settling in to nesting & preparing for this new season, baby & I travelled to Brazil to learn from in her training “The Art of Birth”.

I’m feeling so full of gratitude for her teachings, for the connection & support of every other participant, and for the marvelous experience of a lifetime! Absolutely magical to enrich my own pregnancy with the love & kindness & wisdom that poured out of this community.

And! While I’m not currently supporting others through their own pregnancies & births & postpartum times, I’m so excited to bring what I’ve learned through this training to more families & babies in the future! Stay tuned for future offerings! ❤️

Come see me & this weekend for the annual LoLA art crawl.
We’ll be selling pottery, soap, woodworking + stained glass over at site 56. The neighborhood will be full of artists selling their creations on Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Labor + birth are unpredictable. We can’t know what will happen. Or how it will happen. Or when it will happen. We roll with the changes, trying to stay open to what comes.
With shifting plans + expectations throughout pregnancy, throughout labor, a beautiful birth straddled the transition from Thursday to Friday.

First birth of June arrived on June 10. Slow in some moments, intense in others. We rolled with the process + baby was born on a beautiful morning.

Mother's Day yoga is coming up on Sunday! We'll have a lovely prenatal + postnatal yoga flow specially planned for pregnant + previously pregnant bodies. Enjoy a little me-time with a beautiful community of other moms + moms-to-be, and me!

Loved getting to spend time meeting with other doulas + birth advocates today at the Doula Appreciation Lunch hosted by + Birth Equity Community Council + African American Babies Coalition at the Wilder Foundation.
I met so many people doing awesome work to improve birth experiences, improve maternal & child outcomes, + support the work of doulas in Minnesota. Plus I got some great swag!
