Let's talk all things Murdaugh. I love watching court trials. I've been hooked on the Alex Murdaugh investigation and trial for the past 5 weeks. Today starts week six and I'm hoping it goes to the jury before the weekend.
I went into this trying to stay neutral and see what happened. I went from guilty to not guilty to guilty but he didn't shoot them. I couldn't make up my mind.
After watching him on the stand I feel he is guilty.
The way he called the victims with really personal nicknames was really odd to me. We all have nicknames for loved ones but in public? No. It felt disrespectful and made up to me.
The thing that really tipped me over the edge was finding out about the badge, the gun and the blue cop lights on his company vehicle. That tripped my murderer meter. That's creepy stuff. Pretending to be more powerful than you really are in this way makes me think sociopath.
He lies about the lies he has told.
Here's what I think happened. I think he knew everything was starting to crash down with the stolen money. I think he knew that Paul was going to go to prison for the boat wreck and Mallorie's death. It was going to cost him a LOT of money that he didn't have. I think Paul and Maggie had been on him about finding his drugs and maybe even destroyed them. I think Paul had left the guns in the golf cart that Alex was driving. I think that there were words exchanged about the drugs and he shot Paul twice and as Maggie was trying to get away he shot her 7 times as well. I believe he was on the golf cart the whole time. He took the hose and cleaned the golf cart and the majority of it off him. He went back to the house, showered, changed clothes. I think he hid the guns and clothes in his house or somewhere at his mom's house. Maybe down a well or in one of the sheds. Nothing was searched at Alameda for weeks or months.
I just feel that he can lie, cheat, steal, and manipulate so easily. Clearly only thinks about himself and what he needs.
I think he is guilty at this point. I am anxious to hear the next few days testimonies and closing arguments.
What do you think?
