This role plays a critical part in advancing WomenVenture’s mission to elevate entrepreneurs with catalytic capital funding that’s helps start and scale small businesses.

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:

The 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 is responsible for developing and executing lending strategies that expand access to capital, achieve loan production goals, strengthen lending partnerships, and ensure high-quality credit decision-making consistent with the organization’s mission and risk objectives. This role serves as WomenVenture’s senior lending executive and primary subject matter expert on lending products, credit policy, market opportunities, and community development lending. The CLO is expected to lead with a commitment to equity, expanding access to affordable capital and fostering economic empowerment in underrepresented communities. This commitment, combined with the organizational value to engage with empathy, will be at the core of evaluating risk, implementing team procedures, engaging with volunteer loan committees, and supporting clients who need additional resources.

Okay, it has taken me almost two months to post this — and honestly, that says everything.

On June 13, 2026, I graduated from the Avanzando Liderazgo Program (ALP) with LatinoLEAD. And I have to say — applying for this program was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I am proud of ME!

Six months. Monthly full-day sessions. Personal coaching. And a cohort of incredible Latinx professionals who pushed me, made me laugh, and showed me what community really looks like. Oh — and a curriculum that actually celebrates your cultura instead of asking you to leave it at the door.

Here's what I learned about myself:
I have spent most of my life living in fear. Fear of not being enough. Fear of not belonging. Fear that I couldn't make an impact in the Latinx community because I don't speak Spanish. This program helped me realize that I am enough. Exactly as I am. And that impact doesn't require perfection.

So today I'm doing something scary. I'm sharing my personal narrative publicly for the first time. Fair warning: there is a lot of ugly crying. It's not perfect. But it's mine. And if it helps even one person feel a little less alone — worth it.

To my ancestors, my grandmother Phyllis, and my parents Franklin and Sylvia — thank you for giving me a story worth telling. To my partner, Kenney, friends and mentors who I can lean on anytime I need a reminder of how awesome I am. To my ALP cohort — you all inspired me more than you know. I can't wait to watch what you do next. You inspire me every single day.

And to Brenda and the LatinoLEAD team — thank you. Truly. For creating something so special and for reminding us that you don't have to speak perfect Spanish to show up for your community.

Oh, and one more thing — this experience inspired me to explore continuing education in organizational development and training. And maybe someday getting paid to tell my story as a public speaker 😉
