When Apple got rid of access to the UDID for developers in Xcode 5.0, they promised a solution that would be unique for your company identifier and would be constant as long as at least one of your apps was installed on a device: identifierForVendor.

After a wonderful Thanksgiving Tiny Mission is right back at work. We have been lucky enough to receive the Estimote, Inc. iBeacon development kit. This low power bluetooth transmitters open up huge possibilities. Using them indoors, we can create apps that know and respond to the location of the user with better accuracy then GPS. Although many of the first uses are going to be found in retail and entertainment, we see using these devices in industrial applications. Imagine a lab with beacons near the different equipment that can automatically trigger an app to tell you the current state of the device or process happening. Or get instructions on that piece of equipment right from your tablet as you stand in front of the station. This is just the beginning of what you will begin to hear about iBeacon technology and we are eager to innovate in this field.
