Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown is proud to be a 2025 IHG Torchbearer Award recipient—an honor reserved for the top IHG hotels recognized for exceptional service, quality, and guest satisfaction. Located in the historic Northstar Center, our newly reimagined hotel blends modern comfort with the vibrant spirit of 1960s Minneapolis. Opened in 1963 as the city’s first mixed‑use development, Northstar Center embodied mid‑century ambition with its offices, retail, and the celebrated Northstar Inn. The hotel quickly became a hub for travelers, conventions, and civic life, known for its sleek architecture and its role in launching the Minneapolis skyway system. Designed as a “city within a city,” the complex linked the Cargill and Pillsbury buildings and represented a new era of connected urban living. Today, we honor that legacy with a refreshed space that nods to its iconic past. Explore Nicollet Mall, Loring Park, and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Catch a show at the Orpheum, State, or Pantages Theatres, or visit legendary music venues like First Avenue and The Armory. Whether you're here for a conference, a game, or a nostalgic getaway, our downtown location puts you at the center of it all—with easy access to the Metro Light Rail, MSP Airport, the Mall of America, and the University of Minnesota.
