Our summer architectural interns recently traded their desks for field trips to two Alliiance-designed Washington County projects: the Park Grove Library, currently under construction, and Central Service and License Center.
The tour gave them a firsthand look at how design decisions move from drawings to built spaces—with no detail left unexamined! 🔍

We are ~royally~ excited about the new Frequent Flyers club lounge at Lincoln Airport! Alliiance designed the new lounge as part of the recent terminal expansion and renovation project that has reimagined ticketing and baggage handling systems, added additional gates, and modernized restrooms and amenities.

We had an absolute blast at Three Rivers Park District's River Fest this past weekend!

As an event sponsor, we invited visitors to stop by our booth and create park portraits inspired by the places, moments, and views that captured their attention at the park.

Alliiance designed the Gateway Center, along with several park shelters throughout the site. It was wonderful to see these spaces filled with community, celebration, and connection as people gathered to enjoy and engage with the Mississippi River and its natural surroundings.

Events like River Fest highlight the power of well-designed public spaces to bring people together and connect them to nature.

Check out these new renderings! They are helping the Clinton National Airport and the community envision what’s next for the airport.
Alliiance presented conceptual designs to the Little Rock Airport Commission for a proposed arrivals hall and terminal commons at the airport. The renderings reimagine the terminal to create a more welcoming, intuitive, and efficient passenger experience while supporting future growth.
Proposed features include a new baggage claim and expanded security checkpoint; additional gates; more dining, retail, and passenger amenities; an outdoor terrace beyond security; and improved circulation throughout the terminal.

Kalamazoo and a conference, too!
Alliiance Aviation team members Andrea Loy, Greg Frenzel, and Marcus Webb traveled to Kalamazoo, Michigan for the Great Lakes Chapter, American Association of Airport Executives Annual Conference. A fun evening at the Air Zoo complemented a week expanding our aviation industry expertise and connecting with partners and colleagues. ✈️

Alliiance Principal, Ken Sheehan, AIA, LEED AP, is retiring. Throughout his career, Ken has built a legacy defined by technical excellence and an unwavering commitment to serving clients and communities.

As an Alliiance board member and Public Studio leader, architecture has always been about more than design for Ken. It has meant taking responsibility for every detail, every dollar, every relationship, and every person who will ultimately use the spaces he helped shape.

Throughout his career, Ken worked on an incredible range of projects, from nationally recognized research environments to community-focused spaces. Across every project, one constant remained: a commitment to helping clients fulfill meaningful missions.

Known for his technical rigor, collaborative spirit, and ability to build lasting client relationships, Ken demonstrated that great architecture is built on trust, craftsmanship, and genuine care. And while he took the work seriously, he never took himself too seriously, bringing humor and plenty of “Sheehan-igans” along the way.

Thank you, Ken, for an incredible 30+ years. We wish you all the best in this next chapter.

After an incredible career spanning over 43 years, Alliiance Principal, Carey Brendalen, AIA, LEED AP, is retiring.

Carey has exemplified quiet, steady leadership throughout his time at Alliiance, serving as the firm’s president from 2008 to 2015, as well as a board member and Workplace Studio co-leader. His work spans workplace environments, corporate headquarters, research facilities, and technical campuses for many of our longest-standing clients. Beyond the projects, his greatest contribution has been the lasting relationships he built, helping clients evolve while creating workplaces that support innovation and growth.

Within Alliiance, Carey mentored emerging leaders, guided important firmwide decisions, and consistently reinforced our values while embracing change. He always led by example and earned confidence through consistency and respect.

Thank you, Carey, for your wisdom, generosity, and unwavering commitment to Alliiance. We wish you all the best in retirement!
