BEE Pathways Spotlight✨ Meet Amira Bady
Amira Bady has been a long-standing member of BWWA, participating in programs, events, and even serving as a contractor in our former Da Hive Co-Working Space. In 2019, she received a BWWA grant to support her transportation needs — one of many moments where she has grown alongside the Hive.
In 2023, Amira joined the ZaRah Incubator to host her safety services company. After deeper assessment of her needs, we transitioned her into BEE Pathways to focus on income and housing stability. With coaching, peer support, and resources, Amira was able to reframe her vision and strengthen her personal, financial, and professional foundation.
With more than a decade of experience in the safety and security industry — providing services at George Floyd Square, Open Streets West Broadway, Lutunji’s Place, and housing programs — Amira was well-prepared to grow. Through a BWWA referral, she gained stable, full-time employment with a livable wage, later earning a promotion to supervisor where she manages a team and receives ongoing mentorship to expand her leadership skills.
At the same time, Amira continues to operate her own safety services business on weekends and special community events, providing job opportunities to seven other individuals. Today, she has stable housing, reliable transportation, and a growing reputation in her field.
Amira’s journey reflects the full purpose of BWWA — supporting women as they build stability, expand opportunity, and create pathways for others.
