I love love love seeing everyone’s cards, the photos they chose, the design they picked, their message (I have some pretty clever friends btw) and putting it up to admire for the month.

Shop small this year, my friends. I’m sure you’ve heard that a small business maker does a happy dance with every order received, and it’s true. Ensue dance party! The kids are off of school, I have a few hours left of work, then it’s all gravy for the rest of today and tomorrow. Spending this holiday with our little unit of four, cooking a traditional Thanksgiving meal for the second time in my life, and looking forward to making our own memories. What are your plans?

Here we go again. I went through a round of heartbreak right alongside my clients this summer when their wedding plans had to be altered, scaled back and just plain different from what they had envisioned. With new restrictions from the Governor of MN on gatherings and events, a 50 guest maximum is allowed from 11/27-12/16, then 12/17 until further notice a max. of 25 guests.

How do you tell a portion of your guest list that they can no longer join in the wedding celebration with you in person? The kindest, most eloquent way is to send a formal letter, in your own words, explaining the situation as best as you can. Your family and friends understand. People are more empathetic than you can imagine.

If a new round of mailings is not in your budget, I suggest working with me to create an email version instead. First and foremost, it is all about clear communication. In addition, updating your wedding website to reflect these changes is a must. Lastly, if you’re worried about hurt feelings ask for help from parents, close relatives and the bridal party. Assign each group a list of names to make personal phone calls instead.

I haven’t talked stamps in a bit. I cannot stress enough how this final step is so very important. It’s the last design element to solidify your wedding brand. Your guests will notice, I promise!

The stamps chosen should be a reflection of the design and/or has personal meaning, yet still matches cohesively. If you ignore the design aspect and use any ‘ole regular stamp instead, you are doing your custom wedding invitations a disservice.

It’s the equivalent to going to a fancy party in your pajamas. You just wouldn’t. Happy Hump Day, loves!
