We’re throwing a happy hour at one of our vineyard sites!

All summer, the Alure team has been out at St. Croix deploying our Japanese Beetle traps row by row. Now we’re opening those same rows to you. Walk the vineyard with us, see the traps in action, and our team at work. You will also get to hear origin stories from the owners of St. Croix Vineyards and Aamodt’s Apple Farm about what it actually takes to be a trailblazer in the Minnesota wine industry and how they have recently used AI to manage and forecast their inventory.

Not just 5 minutes have gone by…

Within minutes of placing our experimental device, invasive Japanese Beetles begin swarming off of nearby vines and many have already died!

We show the aftermath after a week in the next reel.

Within 5 minutes…

After placing one of our research devices, Japanese Beetles started swarming it. The device acts like an electric fence, eliminating beetles and leaving less on the vines.

In the next reel, we’ll share the results after a week. And subsequent posts will be tailored towards the story of how all of this started, from a recurring summer problem to a Japanese Beetle fighting company.

Tackling invasive Japanese Beetles is a war!

And in any war, strategy matters. The way traps are strategically placed matters makes a big difference in reducing beetle defoliation!

In this reel, drone footage helps paint a clearer picture of a war formation we’ve tested in the past, as the team inspects a set of our custom traps in a vineyard that will soon hit the market!

Japanese Beetles swarm James in the vineyard!

Japanese Beetles are an extremely invasive pest in the United States, causing damage to over 300 species of plants and counting.

One of their favorites is the grapevines. Our team stopped by one of our sites to eliminate them using an experimental device we’ve developed which baits and kills them simply by the beetle walking on the surface.
