Starting to think wedding season and newborn season go hand in hand, and I'm lovin' it. This summer, when I haven't been photographing beautiful brides, I've had the privilege of photographing beautiful babies and their sweet families. Sara Merritt and Dave welcomed baby Silas into their family at the beginning of summer and I'm thrilled to share a few favorites with y'all this morning!

This was such a special session with Sara, Dave and their two boys Henry and Silas. These two have created such a strong, love-filled home and are instilling deep faith into these little boys. After much positive feedback, I am officially offering Mother’s Day Mini Sessions!! I did them last year, and absolutely loved them, so I couldn’t help but offer them again this year. I always try and think of the best way to convey why I love these sessions without sounding too extreme, so just bear with me 😊️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not a mom, but I had a mom. I lost her when I was 18 years old, but she continues to influence my life and who I am today because of the kind of mother she was to me. What helps me remember her love for me are all the photos (like the one above) I have from growing up...seeing how she hugged me, smiled at me, and held me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Along with the letters she wrote me throughout the years, photos of and with her are my most treasured belongings because I am reminded of how good God is to have allowed me to be her daughter for 18 years. I love what I do because it’s a gift to ME to be able to provide others a medium for them to be reminded of how much they are loved, and how much love they are capable of giving, no matter what season of life they’re in. So although the session may be for you today, my prayer is that it’s also a gift to your kids down the road ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
