Happy Twin Cities Startup Week!

Coco opened in 2009 and we've been giving founders a place to work since before there was a week set aside to celebrate them.

This week, if you're attending, speaking at, volunteering for, or exhibiting at any Startup Week event, we'll give you a free day at Coco. Just show your badge, ticket, or confirmation email at the door.

Use it to take a call between sessions, prep before a pitch, or just get work done somewhere quiet.

okay last week was a GOOD week 🧡

thank you to everyone who came out to CoCo Northeast for our open house! We've been open since the beginning of August, so it was so fun to finally get to show off the space to all of you in person. Coffee, conversations, people claiming their favorite desks... this is exactly why we love doing what we do.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, and to the whole Northeast neighborhood for the warm welcome so far.

We just opened the doors at Coco Northeast and now we want you to come spend a whole week in it.

Open House Week is August 18 through 21. Free coworking all four days, local vendors, and a couple of events we're genuinely excited about.

Thursday we have Red Wolf Chai back in the building — Azhar's chai is the real thing, come try it. We also have a lunchtime ergonomics workshop with Dr. Jason Gerard of Lakewoods Chiropractic. He's writing a book on this stuff and has 12 spots. Worth it.

Friday lunch is an AI and automation workshop with Paramo. Practical, not hype. Also 12 spots.

Bring a colleague. Bring a friend who's been working from their kitchen table for three years. Bring yourself. We'd just love to have the space full of good people this week.

Coco Northeast is open again. 🔑

After months of renovations, the doors are open and the space is ready for members, meetings, and the everyday rhythm of work in Northeast Minneapolis.

The brick, the windows, the neighborhood feel, all still here.

Now with refreshed work areas, a new coffee bar, new kitchen lounge, meeting rooms, private offices, and the kind of details that make a space feel good to come back to.

Five days from now, Coco Northeast opens its doors.

We’ve been walking through the space every few days for the past month. Each time, something new was finished.

This week, it stopped feeling like a renovation and started feeling like a place.

The coffee bar is in. The meeting rooms are set. Now we’re down to the final details: touch-ups, clean-up, signage, and all the small things that make a space feel ready for members again.

Right now, Northeast Minneapolis feels like it is building toward something again.

The block is changing. The street is improving. Places that went quiet are finding their footing.

That is why this investment in the Van Buren building matters.

Coco Northeast reopens this coming Monday, August 3.

Good morning from a city that is extremely hot, slightly tired, and a little bit glowing.

What a weekend.

The Aquatennial wrapped last night. And yesterday afternoon in Blaine, a 21-year-old named Jackson Koivun held off the best golfer in the world — with a crowd full of Scottie Scheffler fans chanting in his ear — and didn't blink. Third start as a pro. First win. Tournament record. Just another day on the golf course, apparently.

Minneapolis has had a week.

We've been quietly having one too. The Northeast renovation is nearly done. The new coffee bar is in. The fresh meeting room designs are coming along exactly like we hoped they would.

We reopen next week!

We have been looking through old Coco photos, newspaper clippings, and stories from the past 17 years, and there was too much good history not to share.

Coco started in 2009, when coworking was still a new idea in Minnesota. Since then, our community has had homes in Lowertown, the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, Uptown, Northeast, Fargo, and Chicago.

A lot has changed over the years, but the people have always been the heart of Coco.

As we prepare to welcome members back to Northeast, we put together a look at the places, milestones, and people that brought us here.

Coco Northeast has never been just another workspace.

In 2015, Coco opened at 1400 Van Buren Street NE, inside the former SportsEngine space in the Van Buren building.

At the time, Northeast was one of the most requested locations by Coco members. That part still feels important.

Brick. Timber. Daylight. Old warehouse character. A neighborhood full of artists, makers, small businesses, nonprofits, and people building things that do not always fit neatly into a traditional office.

That is the spirit we are bringing back.

The renovated Coco Northeast is being designed for the way people work and meet now: private offices for small teams, meeting rooms for client conversations and planning sessions, and shared spaces that feel useful, warm, and connected.

Not a new brand.

The next chapter of Coco Northeast.

We are targeting an August reopening and are already talking with teams, former members, meeting clients, and neighbors who want to see what is coming.
