I’ll never forget the first time I interrupted a prospect mid breath during the usual long-winded small talk at the beginning of a meeting for the first time with,

“to be respectful of your time, we committed to 30 minutes, does that still work?
..Great, I want to make sure we have a productive meeting, thus let’s jump in..”

It set the tone for the rest of our time together, and created what eventually became the basic framework for what we now call our Fast15, the most effective way we have found to run a first meeting successfully, time and time again.
