In partnership with the St Paul Area Chamber, 110 Twin Cities leaders spent the last three days in Kansas City for our annual InterCity Leadership Visit.

We heard from an outstanding group of business, civic, philanthropic and elected leaders about what is working in KC and how intentionally they have approached growth together as a region.

That regional mindset stood out. The focus is on promoting KC as a whole, not Kansas City, MO or Kansas City, KS separately. It is an approach that has helped attract major opportunities, including four FIFA World Cup matches this summer.

We also had the chance to experience the city firsthand, enjoy some great Kansas City BBQ and spend valuable time connecting with one another.

We are heading home with new ideas, stronger relationships and plenty to think about.

The Minnesota Keystone Program recently caught the attention of America250, the congressionally appointed commission leading the celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday. Mike Logan, President & CEO, was invited to present at America250’s final partner meeting at Target Corporation, sharing how Keystone has successfully encouraged corporate philanthropy in Minnesota for 50 years.

The Minneapolis Regional Chamber and America250 will continue conversations about how the Keystone model could help inspire corporate giving and community investment on a broader scale.
