Washburn And Son Excavating LLC is a family owned and operated business, started over 20 years ago by Greg Washburn, it was called Washburn Excavating, with just a backhoe and a small dump truck the company was built from the ground up, in 2003 the company was changed to Washburn And Son Excavating

LLC and Mike Washburn became part owner, since then the company has grown to have an extensive equipment fleet and a great employee team

For the past week we have been tearing up the site at the new Lewiston apartments.. trench for the water, fill in, trench for the sewer fill in, and finally trench for the underground power and cable and now fill in! We can finally start to clean up and get ready for parking lot gravel here soon!

A sad but happy day, our 2016 Kubota SVL 75/2 has been an absolute amazing machine, but its time to send her on to a new home...it'll make someone a great machine. Filling her shoes will be a 2026 Kubota SVL 75/3. It'll be off to work right away. A big thanks to Wallingford Equipment Co. For making this process easy and always being our go to for Kubota equipment!

We are so proud of our crews, they put in some hard hours in this heat! But they finished backfilling a new foundation in Auburn, drainage and waterline install along with backfilling at the 4th apartment building in Lewiston, installed a new replacement leech field in Minot, finished the utility install, pad prep and septic install at a new home project in Mechanic Falls, excavated to install a gutter line drain away in Bath, and lastly landed a excavator at a new home project in Buxton, now our guys will enjoy a nice long weekend as we are off tomorrow!!! They deserve it!!!

If you see the man who started it all today or his shiny red truck, be sure to wish Greg Washburn a happy birthday!!! You won't see him on the jobsite as much anymore but he's still a massive part of this company, to meeting customers for estimates, grabbing parts for our mechanic or helping out with anything needed. Happy birthday Greg!!!!
