HAPPY 10TH OF SEPTEMBER, BELIZE! 🇧🇿

Today, the Belize Justice of the Peace – Florida Chapter proudly joins Belizeans at home and throughout the diaspora in commemorating the Battle of St. George’s Caye—a defining chapter in our nation’s history.

From September 3–10, 1798, the waters surrounding St. George’s Caye became the setting for a historic confrontation. September 10th has since endured as a powerful symbol of the courage, determination and collective spirit that helped shape the Belize we know today.

As Justices of the Peace serving within the Belizean community in Florida, we recognize that preserving our history is also an act of service. Our responsibility extends beyond borders—to uphold integrity, strengthen community, support our fellow Belizeans and ensure that future generations understand the journey of the nation whose heritage we proudly carry.

Today we honor those who came before us, celebrate the Belizean people of today, and recommit ourselves to helping build an even stronger tomorrow.

As members of the Belize Justice of the Peace – Florida Chapter, we recommit ourselves to upholding the principles of fairness, integrity, and service to our Belizean diaspora. 🇧🇿 Welcome to the Belize Justices of the Peace – Florida Chapter (BJP-FL)! ⚖️

The Belize Justices of the Peace – Florida Chapter (BJP-FL) proudly announces the successful conclusion of its Inaugural Organizational Board Meeting, marking a historic milestone in establishing the chapter's leadership and governance as we begin serving the Belizean diaspora throughout the State of Florida.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of the Attorney General of Belize for its continued leadership in upholding the integrity of the Justice of the Peace program and for the confidence placed in each of the newly appointed Justices of the Peace and Commissioners of the High Court. It is an honor to serve under this distinguished appointment and to represent Belize with professionalism, impartiality, and integrity.

Following the recent swearing-in ceremony, we are pleased to introduce the officers elected to lead the chapter for the next two-year term (2026–2028).

A Historic Milestone for the Belizean Diaspora in Florida 🇧🇿⚖️

The inaugural swearing-in ceremony of the Belize Justices of the Peace – Florida Chapter (BJP-FL) marked a proud and historic moment in strengthening the connection between Belize and its diaspora.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Office of the Attorney General of Belize for its vision, leadership, and unwavering support in making this initiative a reality. A special thank you to Solicitor General Elisa Montalvo-Smith for her dedication, professionalism, and steadfast commitment throughout this process.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to National Chapter President Hon. Danny Madrid for his guidance, instruction, and commitment to excellence in establishing and empowering this chapter. Your leadership has laid a strong foundation for meaningful service to Belizeans throughout Florida.
