❤️ Support David's Heart Journey

David, a student at VMHS, was rushed to the ER at Mission Regional Hospital where doctors discovered he was in severe heart failure. He was airlifted to Driscoll Children’s Hospital and then flown to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston for specialized care.

On February 19th, David underwent open-heart surgery to receive an LVAD, a device helping his heart pump while he continues his fight and potentially waits for a heart transplant.

David is recovering in the CICU and making progress, but once discharged his family will need to remain in Houston for at least 3 months for labs and appointments.

David has already missed solo & ensemble auditions and performances with his Indoor Percussion group — something he worked countless hours for while maintaining A’s and B’s at VMHS.

We are raising funds to help support his family’s extended stay in Houston during recovery.
