Caring for our elders is not a transaction—it is a sacred responsibility. 💔

Seeing situations in our Rio Grande Valley community where a vulnerable senior is pushed out of a care facility with nowhere to go isn't just heartbreaking—it is an unacceptable disgrace to the care industry.

Our community’s elders built the foundations we stand on today. They deserve respect, continuous safety, and undeniable dignity—never abandonment.
Too often, families and individuals don’t know their rights or where to turn when care breaks down.

Please know this: Care facilities cannot simply put a vulnerable resident out on the street or neglect their duty of care.

🛡️ Know the Rights of Elderly & Disabled Residents in Texas:
No Sudden Dumping: Under Texas regulations, long-term care and assisted living facilities must provide proper written notice (typically at least 30 days) before an involuntary discharge.

Mandatory Safe Transfer: A facility is legally obligated to coordinate a safe, documented plan that guarantees continuous shelter and care. Putting someone out without support is unacceptable and against state standards.

Financial Vulnerability Is Not an Excuse: No one should ever be abandoned due to disputes over funding or administrative changes.

📞 Who to Call If an Elder’s Rights Are Being Violated:
Texas Long-Term Care Ombudsman: 1-800-252-2412
(Free, dedicated advocates who stand up for assisted living and nursing home residents against unlawful evictions.)

Texas HHS Complaint Intake: 1-800-458-9858
(To file an official complaint against a licensed facility and initiate a state investigation.)

Texas Abuse Hotline (Adult Protective Services): 1-800-252-5400
(For immediate elder abandonment, physical neglect, or exploitation.)

Let’s be the voice for those who cannot fight for themselves. Check in on your elderly neighbors, stay vigilant with your family members' care plans, and speak up the moment something feels wrong.

Spreading awareness can protect a vulnerable life right here in our community. 🙏

As September comes to a close today, our team at Panditas Home Care Services simply could not let this month end without taking a moment to speak from the heart.🤍

Care is at the center of everything we do, and care means seeing people in their most vulnerable seasons—offering a hand, a listening ear, and a reminder that no one ever has to walk through life's hardest battles alone.

Throughout September, our hearts have been with every individual and family facing profound journeys:

💛 Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Honoring the bravest little warriors facing unimaginable fights, standing with the families who never leave their side, and remembering every angel gone far too soon.

💜 Su***de Prevention Month: For anyone carrying silent pain, heavy thoughts, or invisible burdens—your story is not over. Your life has immense value, and there is always hope and support waiting for you.

❤️ Blood Cancer Awareness Month: Standing in solidarity with those battling leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and all blood disorders, cheering on survivors and honoring their strength.

💙 National Recovery Month: Celebrating the courage of every person walking the path of healing and rebuilding life one day at a time.

At Panditas Home Care Services, we believe that true care extends far beyond daily tasks—it lives in empathy, connection, and community. Before this month slips away, we want to remind you: you are seen, you are valued, and you are never alone.

Check on a friend. Listen with kindness. Be the gentle reminder someone needs today that tomorrow is worth staying for. 🤍

Seeing the pandas arrive at Zoo Atlanta touches our hearts. To us, the panda represents everything we stand for: gentle strength, patience, and protective love.
At Panditas Home Care Services , caring for others isn’t just our work—it is our calling. Our heartfelt hope is that the team at Zoo Atlanta cares for these sweet animals with the very same tenderness, respect, and devotion we give to our clients every single day.

Because every life in our hands deserves to feel safe, cherished, and deeply cared for. 🏡✨

Welcome to the US ♥️ Ping Ping and Fu Shuang 🐼

Thrilling news: The giant pandas have landed! Zoo Atlanta is overjoyed to announce that giant pandas Ping Ping and Fu Shuang have arrived in Atlanta. They’re not yet visible – but we can’t wait to introduce them to you as we usher in a new era for Atlanta pandas!

The pandas arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport this morning via a dedicated “FedEx Panda Express” Boeing 777 aircraft. FedEx generously donated the transportation.

The pandas are in Atlanta through a new International Cooperative Research Agreement on Giant Panda Conservation initiated between Zoo Atlanta and the China Wildlife Conservation Association. Zoo Atlanta is now one of three zoos in the U.S. to house giant pandas and is the only zoological organization in the Southeast the species will call home.

“This is a thrilling day for Zoo Atlanta and a historic moment for the City of Atlanta, the state of Georgia, and beyond,” said Raymond B. King, President and CEO. “We are elated to welcome Ping Ping and Fu Shuang and could not be more excited about sharing that joy with our Members, guests, city, and community in the coming weeks. Zoo Atlanta is honored to partner with the China Wildlife Conservation Association to see important work continue toward the conservation of giant pandas, which is the most important benefit of guarding this species.”

About Ping Ping and Fu Shuang

Male Ping Ping and female Fu Shuang (pronounced Foo Shwong) were born in China at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on March 17, 2020, and October 18, 2020, respectively.

Ping Ping’s name is part of a name given at birth to him and his twin brother, representing a blessing for a smooth and healthy life. Fu Shuang’s name comes from “Fu Lu,” a reference to her and her mother and meaning “happiness”.

What happens next?

Ping Ping and Fu Shuang are not yet visible. The bears will be housed in a biosecure area of Zoo Atlanta’s new giant panda complex for a routine quarantine period of around a month. Zoo Atlanta will make exciting future announcements about the new arrivals, including the name of their new home, design details of their expanded habitat, and the date when Members and guests can expect to see them.

A continuing history of conservation partnership

Once classified as Endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), giant pandas were reclassified to Vulnerable in 2016. Of nearly 1,900 giant pandas remaining in the wild, 72% are strictly protected on nature reserves. Dating to the 1990s when Zoo Atlanta initiated the first round of giant panda conservation cooperation with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding as its Signature Partner, support from the Zoo has benefited habitat restoration, nature reserve management, and ranger support in China. At the same time, mutually beneficial outcomes have been witnessed in fields of rare and endangered species conservation and breeding, scientific research, and public education while fostering friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The Chinese government has invested a significant amount of human, material, and financial resources to continuously strengthen the restoration and protection of wild giant panda habitat and has gradually established 67 giant panda reserves. In 2021, with the newly established Giant Panda National Park as the mainstay, a holistic habitat protection system at the national level took shape to further improve the connectivity, coordination, and integrity of giant panda habitat.

A new era for a source of Atlanta pride

Zoo Atlanta’s original giant panda agreement with China, originated in 1999 and concluded in 2024, resulted in a highly productive 25 years of partnership, with seven offspring born to the pair Lun Lun and Yang Yang between 2006 and 2016. Lun Lun, Yang Yang, and their two youngest offspring, Ya Lun and Xi Lun, departed Atlanta for the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in October 2024; the pair’s first five offspring also reside there.

In addition to these accomplishments, which included the successful rearing of two sets of twins, Zoo Atlanta’s partnership with colleagues in China forged a longtime history of collaboration and information exchange toward shared goals of the professional care of pandas and science benefiting the species.
