Blackfoot Communications + Missoula Electric Cooperative

Blackfoot Communications is proud to continue our longtime sponsorship of the Helmville Rodeo, a treasured Montana tradition that has brought the community together for generations.

The original wooden grandstands were built in 1927 and became an iconic part of the historic rodeo grounds. In 2017, Blackfoot Communications and Missoula Electric Cooperative, along with a bank partner, contributed $20,000 to help kickstart the effort to restore and preserve the grandstands.

Nearly a decade later, that history is still part of the story. A new sign at the rodeo grounds recognizes the partnership between two local cooperatives and the role they played in helping preserve an important piece of Helmville's history.

Watch for the new sign at the rodeo grounds, and we hope to see you in Helmville!

Blackfoot was proud to be a Big Tomato sponsor for Garden City Harvest's Farm Party!

Garden City Harvest works to make local, healthy food accessible to everyone through community gardens, neighborhood farms, youth programs, hands-on agricultural education, and partnerships that help provide fresh produce to those experiencing food insecurity.

This year’s Farm Party celebrates 30 years of fighting food insecurity and is Garden City Harvest’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds directly support programs that benefit more than 20,000 people throughout the Missoula community.

Applications are due August 25, 2026.

Congratulations to the Philipsburg Skatepark Association and the entire Philipsburg community on the grand opening of the new Philipsburg Skate Park!

This project is a great example of what can happen when neighbors, local businesses, volunteers, and community partners work together toward a shared vision. The new skate park creates a welcoming place for people of all ages and skill levels to stay active, build friendships, and enjoy the outdoors for years to come.

As a Montana-based cooperative, Blackfoot Communications is proud to support projects that strengthen our communities and invest in the places where families gather, kids play, and connections are made. Supporting healthy, active lifestyles and community infrastructure is part of our commitment to the people and communities we serve.

There's nothing quite like rodeo season in rural Montana!

Blackfoot Communications was proud to support the 85th Annual Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo and celebrate alongside the Drummond community. From the Main Street parade to an afternoon of exciting PRCA rodeo action, it was a great day honoring tradition, community, and the Western way of life.

We were especially proud to have Blackfoot Trustee Butch Friede representing our cooperative and connecting with community members throughout the day.

Thank you to the Drummond Kiwanis, the volunteers, competitors, and everyone who helped make this year's rodeo another outstanding success. We're proud to support events that bring our communities together.

Happy Independence Day from Blackfoot Communications

As we celebrate Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of America, we honor the enduring spirit of our nation and the communities that make it strong.

Blackfoot Communications is proud to support the St. Regis Senior Center with a $5,000 Community Support grant for its emergency generator project.

The St. Regis Senior Center is much more than a senior center, it serves as a gathering place, meal site, resource center, and community hub for residents throughout the area. This project will help ensure the Center can continue providing meals, warmth, water, and support during power outages and emergency situations.

As a cooperative, we're proud to invest in projects that strengthen our communities and help neighbors support one another when they need it most.
