Just announced! One of our panels at the Gulf Coast Literacy Symposium will focus on Fundraising in the "The Next Normal" - and how to be adaptable as we emerge from the pandemic. Jonita Fair-Payton and Tara M. Thompson, both of The Funding Strategists, will join Ernest Lewis III, President and CEO of the Adult Education Center, to talk all things fundraising. This panel will be moderated by Jackie Aguilera, Project Manager, City of Houston Mayor’s Office for Adult Literacy.

Training Day 5. Last Day. Topic: Work Life Balance. We discussed Mindfulness, Burnout, and Compassion Fatique. Then, we learned ways to de stress and developed a Work Life Balance Plan by identifying supports and stressors on our Life Circle. It was an amazing day. It has been an awesome week of training.

Training Day 4. Topic: Diversity & Inclusion. We discussed People First Language, Microagressions, Biases, and Cultural Differences. The conversations were thought provoking, introspective, and difficult. However, we were able to acknowledge differences, weave through emotions, and provide valuble insight. This was an amazing session.

SN: Our custom shirts we a hit. We chose to wear a myriad of colors to represent diversity.

Training Day 3. Topic: The CRF Principles of Case Management. We had an exciting day discussing case management styles, case notes, referrals, and follow-up. Our participants were engaged and focused. They grasped the information and were not frazzled by our scenarios. They personified the Michelle Obama quote on our shirts .

Today is Adminstrative Professionals Day. Robin Jenkins is actually our Manager of Clent Services, but because we are a boutique firm, we all assume various roles. She handles all of our administrative duties with skill, class, professionalism, and always with that award winning smile. It’s your day Robin. We hope that we show our appreciation often. Have lunch today on us!
