Snake poemred touch yellow kills a fellow
You will find many species of snake in the USA that look similar, but one case of misidentification could be fatal — the scarlet king snake and coral snake. The latter - coral snake - is a venomous species, with what is believed to be the second-strongest of all snake venoms; but the scarlet king snake is a completely harmless species, with no venom. Though similar, the two species have slight differences: when red stripes are next to black stripes, you’re looking at a non-venomous scarlet king snake. If the red touches the yellow - “Red Touch Yellow - Kills a Fellow” - it’s a venomous coral snake.
