A milestone for Alabama Shipyard and the Port of Mobile.

This week, Alabama Shipyard successfully launched AFDM 15 from Dry Dock Alabama, marking the largest vessel launch in Mobile's history.

At 694 feet in length and approximately 12,000 tons, AFDM 15 was carefully transferred onto Dry Dock Alabama before launch. Executing a project of this scale required extensive planning, precision, and coordination every step of the way.

As the only shipyard facility in Mobile capable of launching a vessel of this size, Alabama Shipyard is proud to provide the expertise and infrastructure needed to support some of the maritime industry's most complex operations.

We’re excited to announce that proceeds from the Inaugural Alabama Shipyard Charity Golf Tournament next week will benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile

UCP of Mobile empowers individuals of all abilities to embrace their potential and lead lives filled with purpose—a Life Without Limits. They serve children and adults living with a wide range of disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disability, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, and more. Through programs such as inclusive preschool, Adult Day Programs, and Camp SMILE—along with a continuum of support services—UCP of Mobile serves more than 750 families each month across 32 counties in South Alabama.
