As the nation celebrates National Apprenticeship Week, we are reminded that one of the best ways to strengthen the future of aerospace manufacturing is to invest in the talent right here in our community. Airbus is proud to announce that applications for FlightPath9 are now available for local high school juniors here: https://www.flightworksalabama.com/fp9/

FlightPath9 is a premier pre-apprenticeship program providing a direct, no-cost pathway into aviation manufacturing. We are looking for the next generation of innovators ready to learn and launch a career with global impact.

Through our partnership with Flight Works Alabama and Bishop State Community College, we offer:
- Industry Training: Earn 18 credit hours toward an Aviation Manufacturing certificate.
- Full Support: Tuition, books, and uniforms are 100% funded by Airbus.
- Direct Pipeline: Opportunity to transition into a full-time apprenticeship at our Mobile facility.

Apprenticeships are the backbone of our industry, providing the hands-on skills required to build some of the world’s most advanced aircraft.

Today marks 10 years since the first aircraft was delivered from our U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama.

That delivery was a defining moment, not only for Airbus but also the City of Mobile, the State of Alabama and the U.S. It represented the beginning of our journey that has taken us far beyond our initial expectations.

More than 600 aircraft later, from a site that has tripled in size, our progress is a testament to our team’s dedication to satisfying our customers with the highest quality aircraft and to the unwavering commitment of our community stakeholders and industry partners.

We had such a great time welcoming Covenant Christian in Mobile, AL to Flight Works Alabama for a field trip!

These students were full of curiosity and great questions. We love seeing future innovators and explorers take an interest in aviation!

The Aerospace, Airline, and Airport Management Club from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach chapter recently traveled to Mobile, Alabama for an incredible industry experience. ✈️

During the trip, students explored the Airbus Final Assembly Line and received an exclusive tour of the new Mobile airport—an opportunity arranged outside of FWA. The visit provided a behind-the-scenes look at aircraft production and airport development, giving students valuable insight into the aviation industry.

Participants shared their excitement about the experience, with one student saying, “This has been one of the most exciting trips yet!”

Trips like this continue to connect students with real-world aviation operations and industry leaders.

In a bridge between the classroom and the assembly line, students from the Auburn University School of Aviation recently traveled south to Mobile for a tour of our Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Site and Flight Works Alabama. The visit provided a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most advanced aerospace hubs in the world: the Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the A320 and A220 families of aircraft.

For Auburn students, many of whom train on the university’s own Airbus A320 flight simulator, the visit was more than a field trip; it was a glimpse into the industrial scale of their future careers. Their trip also included a visit from the Flight Test team where students were able to interact with these aviation professionals to discuss pathways and provide career mentoring as they transition from academics into careers.

As Airbus continues its ramp up, the demand for skilled pilots, maintenance technicians, and aviation managers is at an all-time high. By connecting Auburn’s elite flight training with Alabama’s premier manufacturing site, the School of Aviation ensures its graduates are not just ready to fly, they are ready to lead.
