Yesterday, Almond Alliance CEO Alexi Rodríguez had the opportunity to speak at the Central Valley Almond Association’s Grower Luncheon in McFarland. Thank you to the CVAA team for the invitation and to the growers and industry leaders who joined the conversation. We appreciate the opportunity to connect, share insights, and discuss the issues impacting the almond industry.

The 2025 California legislative session was one of the most consequential in recent memory. The Almond Alliance was in Sacramento for all of it.

A snapshot of what was won and protected for almond growers this year:
✔️ Blocked SB 295, legislation that would have imposed broad restrictions on market data tools used across the ag industry, protecting the communication channels growers and handlers rely on

✔️ Unlimited fee authority for a state air board was blocked, protecting growers from unpredictable costs

✔️ A glyphosate ban that would have eliminated a critical w**d management tool was stopped

✔️ Almonds kept out of the ultra-processed food category, protecting demand

✔️ Engaged in active monitoring of fumigation regulations through DPR and CCST, staying ahead of proposals that could threaten critical pre-plant tools

This week, Almond Alliance President and CEO Alexi Rodriguez joined Congressman Vince Fong and Congressman Adrian Smith for an agriculture roundtable at Fresno State. The discussion focused on California's export competitiveness, market access challenges, global competition, supply chain infrastructure, and policies that support continued investment in agriculture.

We appreciate Congressman Fong for convening this important discussion and for providing the opportunity to share perspectives on behalf of the almond industry.

INDUSTRY WIN: The Almond Alliance has worked with industry partners and congressional leaders to ensure almond growers have a clear path to this relief. This is the result of that work.

Program Details:
- USDA's Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers (ASCF) Program is open for enrollment, and almond growers should act now.

- Almonds are eligible for $225 per acre under Tier 2 of the program.

- Visit your local FSA office beginning June 8 to enroll in person. The enrollment window closes August 7, 2026.
