We design, manufacture, install and service custom electric signs and awnings throughout California and Nevada. Sign Designs was established in 1971 by Allen Johnston and Douglas Smith. We have been committed to excellence since opening our operation and have been under the same ownership during that time. Sign Designs' entire staff is ready to assist you with all your signage needs.

We recently completed the sign installation for Try-Us Transportation Inc. in Keyes,

This project included illuminated pan channel letters with logo cabinets, one set mounted on an exposed raceway and one flush-mounted sign package, along with non-illuminated FCO address/building ID panels for clear wayfinding across the property.

Clean branding, strong visibility, and a polished finish from front office to shop buildings.

Project Spotlight: The Redwoods Apartments

We recently completed the manufacture and installation of a full property signage package for The Redwoods Apartments in Modesto, CA.

This project included updated monument signage, directional signage, dimensional lettering, custom fabricated panels, faux stone finishes, and clean wayfinding details designed to create a cohesive look throughout the property.

From the initial drawings and estimate request to fabrication and final install, our team helped bring a refreshed, professional, and easy-to-navigate signage system to life.

A great example of how well-planned signage can improve curb appeal, strengthen property branding, and create a better first impression for residents and visitors.

We’re proud to be part of something that gives back right here in our community. ❤️

Sign Designs, Inc. has adopted the corner of Briggsmore Ave. @ Sisk Rd./Orangeburg Ave. for The Salvation Army’s Kidz Day 2026.

Kidz Day is an annual fundraiser that benefits local at-risk youth through the Red Shield Community Center in South Modesto, helping support programs that make a real difference in the lives of children in our area. On May 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., our team will be out at our assigned corner showing support and helping raise funds for this important cause.

If you’re out that morning, stop by, say hello, and help us support a great mission for local kids.
