Last Thursday, the massive Medline warehouse fire in Tracy sent thick black smoke billowing into the air. Because the facility is located just across the freeway from Mountain House, there was significant concern for the safety of the surrounding community.
Large embers were carried by the wind, creating the potential for spot fires in the dry grasslands near residential areas. In response, Rank Investigation and Protection Inc. Public Safety Officers were deployed to the area to provide traffic control and maintain a fire watch. Officers remained on scene for more than five hours, monitoring conditions and assisting the public until shifting winds reduced the threat and officials determined the immediate danger had passed.
Our Public Safety Officers take their responsibility to protect the community very seriously. Their rapid response and continued vigilance helped ensure public safety during a potentially dangerous situation.
