Emerald ash borer has shown up in traps in Yamhill and Marion counties. This invasive pest has been killing ash trees in Washington County since it was first detected there in 2022. Ash trees along Butte Creek on the border of Marion and Clackamas counties east of Woodburn show dying upper branches and D-shaped exit holes caused by this destructive insect. ODF and Oregon Dept. of Agriculture staff are surveying the surrounding area to find out how far the infestations extend. A quarantine on woody material has been placed around Marion and Yamhill counties. You can help by not moving firewood out of those counties.

Funeral services for Wilbur Vanderbeck will be June 27th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Angel. Rosary 12:30 Funeral mass 1pm. Interment at Calvary Cemetery following mass. Refreshments will be served in the parish hall.
Celebration of Life will be Sunday July 7th 1-4pm At Vanderbeck Valley Farm.
