Community leaders from Monahans had the opportunity to visit Frontier Data Center in Abilene, a massive $25 billion project covering 1,200 acres currently under construction.

During our visit, we toured the project’s on-site electrical training camp and active construction site with the opportunity to hear directly from those working on the project. Getting firsthand knowledge from the boots on the ground gave us a better understanding of what it takes to develop and operate a project of this scale—from infrastructure and workforce needs to construction and long-term operations.

As data centers continue to become part of the economic development conversation across Texas, opportunities like this allow us to better understand the potential economic impact these developments can bring to a community.

Thank you, Teresa, for organizing this trip and providing us with the opportunity to learn more about the many elements that go into a data center. We appreciate the chance to ask questions and gain perspective for the future of Monahans and Ward County.
