Is AI right for your business? Let’s be honest about it.
This whole series wasn’t about convincing every contractor that they need AI. It was about cutting through the noise and providing you with the facts so you can decide for yourself.
So let’s break it down.
An AI receptionist is probably a good fit if:
✅ You work alone or run a small crew
✅ You’re physically on jobs all day and can’t get to your phone
✅ You know you’ve lost leads because you couldn’t pick up
✅ You don’t have a dedicated receptionist (and can’t justify that salary)
✅ You want leads captured around the clock — evenings, weekends, holidays
✅ You’re willing to follow up on the leads AI captures
An AI receptionist is probably NOT a fit if:
❌ You already have someone reliably answering your phones
❌ You genuinely never miss calls
❌ You don’t follow up on leads anyway (AI captures them, but you still have to close them)
❌ You’re not comfortable with technology and don’t want to learn (though setup is easier than you think)
Notice we’re not saying everyone needs this. Because not everyone does.
AI is a tool. Like any tool, it works great when it’s the right fit and you use it properly. The contractors who get the most out of this are already hustling. They’re good at their trade. They follow up. They close jobs. They just can’t be in two places at once.
If that sounds like you, here’s what I’d suggest: start small. Basic lead capture — AI answers, takes their info, and sends it to you. See how it works. See how many leads you were actually missing. Then decide whether to add scheduling, quoting, or the full package.
No pressure. No hype. Just a tool that helps you catch more of the leads you’re already generating.
