Adding TerraCycle to our existing recycling efforts keeps more waste out of landfills, raises awareness about recycling, and helps raise funds for our school - a clear win for everyone.

Two of our team attended the Master Recycler workshops offered by the city of Madison. We picked up some tips that are on our website: https://sites.google.com/view/winnequahterracycle/recycling-tips

Check them out, and let us know other tips you might have so we can add to this list!

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Due to the Monona Library being closed, we have come up with another option for collecting items to send to TerraCycle. If you have collections piling up at home, you can ship them yourself if you presort them and email us for the shipping label. Check out https://sites.google.com/view/winnequahterracycle/home?authuser=0 to see what we are currently collecting. Email [email protected] for questions and to request the shipping label for the specific program you are sending. You would then take your boxed up items to the Monona UPS store that is very familiar with us!

If you have collections piling up at home, you can ship them yourself if you presort them and email us at [email protected] to request a free shipping label for each collection or to ask questions. Scroll down to see which collections and what items can be shipped.

Unfortunately, another TerraCycle program is ending. The Chip Bag collecting ends this month, but we have no way to get to the collection area now, so it is going to just have to end immediately. Monona Library is closed again, and when they were open, there was not access to the collection area. At this time, we are not collecting anything or doing Box and Ships. We are not aware of other drop off locations, as REI and Subaru have stopped collecting. We understand how frustrating this can be and hope another option comes up some day. Please stay safe and healthy during this tough time!

These glasses were found near our TerraCycle items and we are wondering if anybody recognizes them to be theirs?

Also, there were items found that people have just dropped off. Here is a friendly reminder that we are not collecting right now. As well as, we no longer take cereal bags or granola bar wrappers. Those programs have ended. However, REI will take snack wrappers, including granola bar wrappers. Please check with them on their current collection policies. Cereal bags are often able to be collected at grocery stores, where plastic grocery bags are collected. Thank you

There will not be a Box and Ship Event this month. Winnequah TerraCycle will be holding off on collecting and Box and Ship Events until further notice. We will keep you posted as things change. Thank you

March Box and Ship Event is cancelled due to Corona virus and the Monona Library being closed.

***IMPORTANT****
MONONA LIBRARY IS CLOSED UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL 6TH DUE TO COVID-19! ALL COLLECTIONS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Items might be contaminated with germs, so for now, it might be best to toss collected items in the trash to not spread anything. As disheartening as that is, we don't want our valuable volunteers or people at TerraCycle getting sick. Remember, people might feel fine, but still have or be carrying the virus. Let's all be careful and responsible during this time. Thank you!
