It's time for the community to show up & show out with support for Dodd Scott & his family!! Sure to be a competitive event with lots of fun & laughs!!!

Come get a plate even if you are not shooting in the match!
To Go plates will be available!

Menu for event:
BBQ pulled pork sandwiches (home made BBQ sauce or Sweet Baby Ray's) or hot dogs
Sides: Baked beans, potato salad, vinegar slaw, pasta salad, etc. Variety of desserts!!!

Saturday, May 16, 2026, MVFD members (past & present), neighboring departments, friends & family gathered at the fire department to honor Chief Brian Franklin, Assistant Chief Dodd Scott & Captain Wayne Huckeby for 25 years of service with our department. To say we are proud of these three men is an understatement! These guys have been the backbone, heart & soul of our department and a definite asset to the community of Monroe, as well as our county. We appreciate all their service, sacrifice and dedication over the years!!! If you see them out congratulate them on this outstanding achievement! Thank you for your service Monroe 12, Monroe 16 & Monroe 10!!!

***Monroe residents can expect to smell smoke or see some flames for next few days in the area of East Port Dock Rd***

MVFD members, along with Taylor's Crossroads & East Clay VFD were called out at 2:11am for a barn fire on Eastport Dock Rd. Unfortunately the barn was fully engulfed when we arrived. Thank you to our neighboring departments for all your help, as well as OCSD & OCEMS for being on scene with us!

***Mark your calendars!!!! MVFD Benefit Match for Dodd has been set for June 6th at 10AM!***

MVFD's normal match rules will apply.

We appreciate all those of you who have already reached out to help, the calls/texts/messages and those who are rocking the heavens with prayers for Dodd & his family, as well as our department!

If any one wants to volunteer to help with the match, or has questions, please contact Kenny Smith or Brian Franklin.

As you all know, Dodd Scott, our Assistant Fire Chief with 25 years+ in the Fire service is facing a hard battle. Please come support Dodd & his family at this Racing event!
Also, know that all of us at MVFD appreciates those of you who have reached out to offer your help, your thoughts and your prayers, not only for Dodd and his family, but for our Fire family as well. It has taken us all a minute to wrap our heads around everything, but MVFD stands strong and will have the Scott family's back each step of the way!
Be watching for more information on an upcoming event that we will be hosting at MVFD to support the Scott family!!! Thank you for supporting MVFD & Dodd!
Dodd, just know, we have heard the call and are reporting for duty with you in this fight!!!
