Some days the work takes me down roads I never would have seen otherwise.
Today I spent part of the afternoon exploring the back roads of Green Bluff, Colbert, Mead, and the surrounding countryside.
The orchards.
The tree farms.
The rolling hills.
The winding roads.
The wide-open skies that seem to go on forever.
It’s amazing how much beauty is tucked away just a few minutes outside the city.
As I drove and walked some of these roads today, I found myself slowing down and simply taking it in—the clouds rolling across the fields, the wind moving through the trees, the orchards preparing for another season, and the peacefulness that comes with wide-open spaces.
Maybe it’s because we’re still relatively new to Spokane, but places like this still stop me in my tracks.
The older I get, the more I appreciate the simple things: fresh air, open land, a quiet road, and the reminder that there is beauty all around us if we’re willing to slow down long enough to notice it.

Feeling grateful tonight.
Grateful for another road.
Grateful for another view.
Grateful for another reminder of how beautiful this corner of Washington truly is.
