Not every mechanical leak detector uses the same tubing size or replacement pad.

Before choosing one, check:

Your filtration-line diameter
How the detector activates
What hardware is included
Which replacement pad fits the exact model

A $10 accessory still needs the right compatibility check.

No electronics required. Here’s what happens inside a mechanical leak detector.

Water reaches the cellulose pad.

The pad absorbs that water and expands.

That expansion mechanically moves the detector’s lever, triggering the valve to shut off incoming flow through the connected filtration line. Metpure’s replacement-pad information says its cellulose pads can expand to roughly three times their compressed height.

Simple mechanism. Very specific job.

The best time to think about an under-sink leak is before one happens.

This mechanical leak detector connects to a compatible 1/4-inch filtration line and uses an expanding cellulose pad to trigger its shutoff mechanism when the pad contacts water.

No batteries or electrical power are required.

The current package includes the detector, two sponge pads, mounting screws, and adhesive strip.

Check your tubing size before purchasing.

Did you know leak protection for a filtration system doesn’t necessarily need a battery, outlet, or Wi-Fi connection?

Mechanical leak detectors use an absorbent cellulose pad. If water reaches the pad, it expands and mechanically triggers the valve to stop incoming water through the connected line.

Metpure currently carries versions for both 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch filtration tubing.

Small component, useful peace of mind.

Trying to match a filtration faucet to an existing kitchen? Don't rely only on what the finish looks like on your screen.

Metpure's physical faucet-finish palette includes 15 labeled metal samples so you can compare Metpure finishes against the fixtures and materials already in the space.

It's designed for homeowners too, but it's especially useful for plumbers, installers, designers, and sales teams helping customers choose a finish on site.

One important detail: Metpure also notes that finish names are brand-specific. A finish with the same name from another manufacturer may still look different.

See the finish first. Choose the faucet second.

Same finish name doesn't always mean the same finish.

A brushed gold fixture from one manufacturer can differ in tone, gloss, or shine from another manufacturer's brushed gold.

That's why Metpure's matching fixture system is designed around coordinated finishes across Metpure-branded RO faucets, kitchen faucets, and soap dispensers.

The goal is simple: when you choose the same Metpure finish, your filtration faucet shouldn't look like it was added to the kitchen as an afterthought.

What's actually different between Metpure’s 50 GPD and 100 GPD RO membranes?

Both are reverse osmosis membranes, but their rated daily permeate-production capacities are different:

Green MVRO50: 50 GPD
Lime MVRO100: 100 GPD

That doesn't mean the 100 GPD option is automatically the right replacement for every MV4 system.

Metpure specifies different flow restrictors for the two membranes and explicitly recommends checking the existing MV4 configuration before purchasing a replacement.

Capacity matters. Compatibility matters too.

What makes the Metpure MV4-ROLB different?

At the center of this four-stage RO configuration is Metpure’s Lime 100 GPD reverse osmosis membrane.

The system uses:

Red: Sediment filtration
Orange: Carbon composite filtration
Lime: 100 GPD RO membrane
Blue: Post-GAC filtration

The 100 GPD rating refers to the membrane's daily permeate-production capacity under specified conditions. Actual output can vary depending on operating conditions such as water pressure and temperature.

If higher RO production capacity matters to your household, compare it with Metpure’s 50 GPD configuration before choosing.

50 GPD? 100 GPD? What does that number actually mean?

GPD stands for gallons per day and refers to the rated amount of permeate water an RO membrane can produce over a 24-hour period under specified conditions.

Metpure currently offers a 50 GPD Green RO membrane and a 100 GPD Lime RO membrane within its Versatile system family.

But GPD isn't the same as how quickly water pours from the faucet.

Actual RO production can also change with conditions such as incoming water pressure and temperature.

So when comparing RO systems, understand what the number actually measures before choosing the bigger one.
