Today's topic: Safety.
This is EXTREMELY important to us! We've been asked a few times now: "So how do I know I'll be safe when I'm meeting a stranger?"
Well, first & foremost: We vet every user who has signed up by matching name against the Facebook profile provided, as well as their phone number and/or email address provided. If one of these has not been provided, then we proactively reach out to that user to understand why and convey our policy on transparency before figuring out next steps to have them involved.
Secondly: We do offer the option to have someone from our team come out to your meeting location (as a "buddy" of sorts) to simply make the introductions, make sure both users are comfortable, then the buddy will go elsewhere in the cafe or coffee shop to allow for the two users to hold their conversation (while knowing that someone is there to step in, should that be needed).
This sort of thing isn't exactly new, right? Dating apps are plentiful today with tens of thousands of strangers meeting every day. Meetups happen daily with groups of people exchanging personal information like social profiles or cell phones. We're simply providing a new perspective on how people meet.
But that doesn't mean we aren't taking User Safety to heart and doing everything we can to make our customers feel safe. And this is just the beginning stages of what we can offer, we have more in mind down the line that we'll share out!
