Position Title: Shop Assistant Department: Operations Reports To: General Manager

Our Company:

For over 40 years, Service King has been a collision repair operator of choice, with 350 locations in 24 states with a mission to provide a secure, fulfilling workplace that motivates our teammates to deliver safe, superior repairs with excellent customer service.

Position Summary:

The Shop Assistant plays an important role in ensuring the repair process is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Shop Assistants receive, process and monitor parts from arrival until the time the repair is completed. This position also plays a vital role in supporting the front of shop during peak hours by communicating with customers and completing ad hoc tasks as needed.

This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Receive and check in parts: Receive and match delivered parts to repair orders and ensure all parts are placed and accounted for on the parts cart

Inspect delivered parts for quality: Inspect parts for damage upon delivery - if parts are not available within two hours of expected drop off

Return incorrect parts: Immediately to the vendor

Monitor deliveries: Regularly communicate with vendor on parts status and update Repair Planner accordingly.

Monitor shop material spend: Communicate to General Manager as needed regarding material spending

Coordinate parts invoicing: Ensure parts invoices are posted in Service King's estimating platform - make corrections as necessary

Review with customers and walk through high-level repair process and next steps (as needed): Greet customers by phone or in-person; educate customers about the collision repair process (high-level overview), including insurance claims information, processing and payment procedures

Learn skills to complete vehicle intake: Complete basic mapping and take standard photo package; Take/upload photos and customer info to Service King's Centralized Estimating team; map damage areas with markers (not responsible for repair vs replace damage identification)

Position Summary:

An Associate Repair Planner is responsible for completing the full estimatics and repair process post- vehicle teardown, and ensuring quality repairs are provided in a timely manner.

The Associate Repair Planner will acquire a proficient understanding of collision repair estimatics. This position requires the ability to learn and communicate detailed repair processes to Body Technicians, and has demonstrated skills and competencies needed to work with major insurance carriers.

Responsibilities:

Review initial CE estimates and write/lock final estimates: Review preliminary estimates completed by the Centralized Estimating team; write complete estimates after full disassembly and damage evaluation, update CE’s estimates as needed, and lock final estimates
Source, order and track parts: Order required parts from preferred vendors, manage parts gross profit, monitor the delivery status; communicate status to the repair team and General Manager; receive/dispatch parts if shop does not have a Shop Assistant
Conduct quality checks: Manage each repair throughout the process and ensure Service King’s quality standards by performing in-process QC. Able to pull and review all data procedures for/with Body Technicians and conduct post scans
Expand professional knowledge and skills: Complete required estimatics training for insurance carriers to learn the necessary skills required to move to the next level of the career ladder
Pre-close the final repair order: Handle disbursement paperwork, address exceptions in the file and ensure carrier specific requirements are completed
