Spot UV Coating is when an ultraviolet coating is applied to a specific area of a printed material. We get it, it looks simple. But here’s the reality 👇
A photo only tells part of the story. We need to know what it doesn’t show, and with specs like these we can know what actually drives cost:
~ Exact dimensions (an inch off can change everything)
~ Paper or plastic type (kraft, SBS, CCNB, co-ex, thickness, etc.)
~ Material weight (GSM / mil)
~ Handle construction (twisted, flat, die-cut, reinforced?)
~ Print method (flexo, offset, digital)
~ Number of colors + coverage
~ Finish (matte, gloss, UV, lamination)
~ Reinforcements (bottom board, fold-over top, patch handles)
~ Quantity (this is HUGE for pricing)
~ Packaging + shipping requirements
Two bags that look identical in a photo can vary in cost by 50–200% depending on these details. That’s why we don’t “guess quote” from pictures. And honestly, you don’t want a supplier who does.

Why Are Your Recycled Kraft Bags Are Undependable? (Spoilers: It’s Not from Manufacturing)
What customers notice:
“Handles are ripping”
“Bags won’t stand open”
“They look old or feel flimsy”
Because the bags are uncoated & made with shorter recycled fibers, improper storage can quickly lead to tearing, curling, discoloration, and handle failure.
What goes wrong:
• Too much humidity → soft, weak bags + handle ripping
• Too dry → brittle paper + cracking at folds
• Temp swings → warping + adhesive failure
Best practice:
Keep bags in a climate-controlled space (45–55% humidity) off the floor and away from sunlight. Cartons should be kept sealed until use.
Bottom line: Most “quality issues” are actually storage issues, not manufacturing.
