There's nothing quite like the energy Variety - the Children's Charity of the Delaware Valley brings to our building. Last week, young adults from their summer vocational program took the reins at MSS — running a farm stand from start to finish, handling every sale and every customer with confidence. This July 4th marks 250 years of American history, and we're celebrating it from the city where that history started.

Some of the projects we're proudest of have let us play a small part in preserving that legacy: safeguarding the lectern Abraham Lincoln used to deliver the Gettysburg Address, crating artifacts for the National Museum of the U.S. Navy, and other work protecting pieces of the American story.

After 20 years, we're celebrating the retirement of Donna Madison.

Donna joined MSS in 2006 and spent two decades as the backbone of our Customer Care team, earning a well-deserved reputation as the go-to expert on subrogation. Whether navigating a complex claim, mentoring a colleague, or working with vendors as far away as Murano Glass in Italy, she handled everything with patience, professionalism, and integrity.

Beyond her expertise, Donna was the person everyone turned to when they weren't sure where else to turn—a mentor, a sounding board, a steady presence, and a true friend to many people over the years. (In fact, here’s a throwback pic of Donna, second from left, with some of her 2013 department crew.)

Outside of work, she's a devoted grandmother, a dog mom to Molly, and a volunteer with Last Chance Ranch, which tells you everything you need to know about her character.

Congratulations, Donna. May this next chapter bring you happiness, relaxation, and adventure!

After 19 years, it's time to celebrate one of the best. Dave Brace joined MSS in 2007 as Director of Operations and spent nearly two decades growing into a key leader on our executive team (first as VP of Operations and then as VP of Strategic Operations). He brought sharp analytical thinking, forward-looking strategy, and an unmatched work ethic to everything he touched. The King of Spreadsheets. The Terminator. First one in, last one out—Route 76 and all.

But what made Dave truly special was never the Excel wizardry. It was the way he listened, coached, and made every single person feel like a priority. His legacy lives on in the people he mentored and the culture he helped build.

To Dave, his wife, Sharon, his kids (yes, including two fellow MSSers!), and his grandchildren, congratulations on this incredible next chapter. You've more than earned it. We won’t say goodbye since he told us to call him anytime. Some things never change!

Happy Earth Day! Sustainability isn't a destination; it's a journey. And we're committed to the road ahead.

Over the past year, we've made meaningful progress on our sustainability roadmap: tracking emissions, examining supplier partnerships, and continuing to learn through our EcoVadis rating. Milestones have been hit, lessons have been learned, and we're building momentum.

We're proud of the ground we've covered—and clear-eyed about how much further we want to go. Thanks for walking this path with us.
