Southeastern Consulting Services hosted the University of Georgia Alumni Assosciation and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at our facility. We were honored and blessed to receive the #6 ranking in the
program ranking businesses owned by UGA alumni. They presented us with a game worn jersey signed by Coach Smart. We have tremendous leadership team and so proud of their work. God is Good and Go Dawgs!

Good access is one of the most important factors for unlocking the value of a tract of land, both recreationally and commercially. Proper road construction and maintenance that adheres to the state's Best Management Practices for Forestry will help ensure that you can access your property to achieve all of your management objectives including hunting and recreation and timber removals.

At Southeastern Consulting Services we work hard and sometimes we even get to play hard. As our prescribed fire season is drawing to an end we took some time to relax by participating in the annual Warnell Alumni Sporting Clays Tournament at the Elbert County Gun Club and the Clay Shoot for Conservation hosted by the Georgia Wildlife Federation at Burge Plantation.

With roots dating back to 1906 the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at UGA has had a time honored tradition of training and equipping some of the best forestry and natural resource professionals in the nation.

Since 1936 the Georgia Wildlife Federation has worked to manage, conserve, and protect our state's abundant natural resources. Their work has helped ensure that future generations will have the same outdoor opportunities that we enjoy today.

"More Trees" is not all always the answer. As professional foresters and land managers we understand the science behind proper forest management. Each tree species we plant has a range of appropriate stocking levels measured in "trees per acre" (TPA). Sometimes, due to natural regeneration from the previous stand of trees or seed-in from adjacent trees, forests may become overcrowded which results in poor nutrient and light allocation leading to stagnated tree growth and reduced tree health. There are several management strategies used to prevent this issue from occurring, but if the issue arises, addressing it as soon as possible after planting is important in controlling cost and allowing the trees unmitigated growth potential. The following pictures are from a "pre-commercial thinning" operation. Our contract crews used brush saws to reduce the stocking to a more acceptable level which will give the remaining trees better resource allocation and room to grow. This is just one of the many tools we as foresters use to ensure that our client’s forests are properly managed. Although we have not posted much lately, it doesn't mean we haven't been hard at it. During the second week of February 2023, Southeastern Consulting Services, Inc. planted it's 1,000,000th tree of this year's tree planting season!

At SCS we are committed to sustainable forest management. This legacy of land stewardship provides forest products to society, protects and enhances wildlife habitat, and purifies our air and water all while ensuring that future generations will have the same resources and recreational opportunities that we enjoy each and every day. We are honored and blessed to take part in managing the natural resources of our state.
