Join us for a fun and informative day at our Monticello Fire Department Open House! Bring the whole family and get an inside look at the life of a firefighter.

📍 Location: 103 Chelsea Rd Monticello

What to Expect:
✅ Fire truck tours
✅ Meet & greet with local firefighters
✅ Kids' activities
✅ Many community partners including Wright County Sheriff's Office, CentraCare with an EMS rig, Life Link III with a helicopter landing (pending no emergencies), Burda's Towing and Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association.

This is a great chance to learn about fire safety, explore our equipment, and connect with the heroes who protect our community. We can't wait to see you there!

On Monday night, we had the privilege of joining the Monticello Lions for their annual Chili Cook Off. This is an event that we look forward to every year, as it gives us some time to fellowship with a great community partner. We’re proud to say that this year, Captain Jared Parker took home the 1st place trophy and Firefighter Cody Robinson finished 3rd!

The Lions also presented the Fire Department with a generous donation to purchase a juvenile training mannequin, that will allow us to have more realistic training and be better suited to protect the members of this community.

We can’t thank the Lions enough for their continued support and we’re already looking forward to next year!

MONTICELLO — Monticello firefighters have surpassed 400 calls for the year, reinforcing what Fire Chief Jake Olinger described as the city’s “new normal” as development and population growth continue.

Hey Monticello! With the recent snow and some public discussion, we felt it would be a good idea to issue a few reminders about fire hydrant accessibility.

Every second counts in a developing structure fire. The added time it could take to identify, clear, and connect to a snow covered hydrant could mean the difference between room and contents to a total loss.

Being a good neighbor means being aware of hydrants within your area. There's not a hydrant at every house, but the hydrants nearby are what we'll be using to save your house. If you have the physical ability to adopt a hydrant and keep it clear, it's a great way to be neighborly, while protecting you and your family at the same time.

Lastly, don't use plows or snowblowers to clear hydrants. The only thing worse than a snow covered hydrant, is a broken hydrant.

Be advised: Monticello Fire was conducting some training tonight (12/8) and broadcasting exercise transmissions over our internal radio channels. There have been some false reports going around social media and we wanted to notify the public there is no ongoing incident at this time.
