Snow has a way of making the world feel still.

During the last snowstorm, we went for a drive so I could soak it all in with my camera. Slow roads, everything covered in white, the kind of quiet you can feel.

It felt simple at the time....just peaceful.

Looking at these now brings up so many emotions......
because life has shifted since then.

Funny how a few photos can carry an entire season of your heart.

To the mama packing up the car and holding back tears…

I found this picture today, and it stopped me in my tracks.

It was taken after we dropped our daughter off at college for the very first time. We stayed at a little cabin nearby, and this porch—this exact spot—is where I sat and cried and prayed and tried to let go.

Back then, I didn’t know how I’d survive that goodbye.
Now? She’s married. A mama herself.

And I still cry.
I still pray.
But the peace runs deeper now.

That season taught me so much—how to trust God with what I can’t control, how to release my grip while keeping my love steady, how to keep showing up even when my heart felt like it was breaking in slow motion.

To the mama getting ready to say goodbye at the dorm room:
I see you.
I was you.

It’s okay to cry in Target.
It’s okay to linger at goodbye.

Spring is hands-down my favorite season here at the Homestead. The apple blossoms are just starting to open, and it’s like the whole world is waking up in soft whites and blush pinks. Everything is lush and green, and the light feels a little more magical this time of year.
