We got in and were able to participate!

The parade was an absolute blast an amazing experience! We have been planning to attend this event since we heard about it through our car club last fall!

When we finished the parade it was about 1030 and we saw the long line of cars still staging to do the cruise!

I was like “wow this is incredible, what’s an awesome turn out…this thing is going to be hard to beat!”

Then I found out thousands of people were turned away! And the ones who made it through staging towards the end, were led to a parade that was no longer a parade…so they drove down a street with crowds leaving and regular traffic mixed in…🤨😱

What a massive failure…

Also the fact that there was NO PLAN for after the parade. Why not have all the cars fill up the parade grounds and have a celebratory car show? With the expo inside still going on (instead it ended the day before 🙄)??

I understand (I’m an event planner myself) that this was a huge undertaking…and many parts of the event were done well. But the failures were so immense that the rest is kind of overshadowed.

This has the potential of being an incredible experience for everyone…and it fell flat. While the parade was an amazing experience and I’m thankful that we are of a “survival of the fittest” mindset and made sure we got there early and that we were able to participate…many people sat and waited their turn (and followed poor instructions they were given) for hours…never even considering they would be turned away! I don’t blame them for being angry! I would have been full “Karen mode!”

If attempts another record…we WILL be there!💯💯🇺🇸
