For , we want to draw attention to one of our guiding tenets at ECP:

Great talent is not just found… it is strategically aligned.

Every advisor is unique in their life and career goals, which is why we never treat advisors as a list of recruiting opportunities. We listen to each advisor’s priorities and preferences to gain a comprehensive understanding of their business model, professional objectives, client needs, and long-term vision.

And our relationships with the industry’s leading firms are a critical part of that process.

Through our established relationships with leading broker-dealers, RIAs, and wealth management firms (such as the leaders featured in these photos from Ignite 2026) we have direct insight into the opportunities, cultures, platforms, and resources available across the industry.

At Elite Consulting Partners, we leverage that industry knowledge to help advisors quickly identify the firms that align with what matters most to them.

Because our goal is never to simply to facilitate a transactional firm transition, it’s to create a transformational career transition; one that turns a career move into a strategic decision for the future.

The right talent deserves the right opportunity, and the right opportunity starts with the right relationships.

Start exploring what a transformational career transition could look like for you and send us a message to see what your opportunities look like.

A lot of firms say they help advisors grow through acquisition. Very few actually have a real plan to back it up.

This question keeps coming up and I want to address it directly.

If you are an RIA or independent practice that wants to become a buyer and grow inorganically the first thing you need to understand is that the platform you are on matters enormously.

Almost every firm will tell you they support advisor growth. It sounds great in a recruiting pitch. But when you actually press them on the specifics what does that growth plan look like. What capital support is available. What geographic restrictions exist. What happens when you want to acquire a practice in a different region.

That is when the conversation gets real fast.

Most firms do not have a defined executable growth strategy for advisors who want to acquire. They have a talking point.

Find the ones that have the actual program. Not just the pitch. 👇

Before you go RIA for growth understand exactly what you are agreeing to.

There are firms in the independent broker dealer space with real programs that help you grow your practice inorganically. M&A support built into the platform. You do not have to go RIA to access that.

But if you do go RIA here is what you need to think through carefully.

If you roll up underneath an RIA and sell part of your business to them they are going to have opinions about how you operate. Not always. There are plenty of RIAs where you can join and maintain your own brand with full autonomy.

But if equity is changing hands expect the relationship to come with strings. How you do things. How decisions get made. Who has input on the direction of your practice.

That is not necessarily wrong. But it needs to be understood before you sign.

Know what you are giving up before you take the money. 👇

Stop saying you can't. Say you haven't done it yet.

That one word swap changes everything about how your brain approaches a challenge.

Can't is a closed door. Haven't yet is an open one.

There is nothing you genuinely cannot do. There are things you have not learned. Things you have not tried. Things you have not figured out the right way to approach.

Yet.

I did not come this far just to come this far.

That line hits different when you have spent 30 years building something.

And here is the question I keep asking advisors who are thinking about retirement.

If you build the business the right way. With the right team underneath you. The right partners. The right systems. Why do you ever actually have to fully retire.

Not the old version of retirement where you stop everything and go sit somewhere. But the new version. Where the business runs with good people at the helm and you show up for the parts you love and step back from the rest.

You did not build this for 30 years just to walk away from it completely.

Build it right and it might just give you the freedom to never have to. 👇

Success means nothing if you dread the life that comes with it.

If you are less than 10 years from retirement do not let the length of the note stop you from making the move.

Here is what most advisors do not understand about how firms think about this.

Firms care about the assets staying on their platform. That is it. Whether you personally work for 10 years or hand it off to your junior partner or your son or daughter in the business in year three does not really matter to them. The note transfers. The assets stay. Less transition risk for everyone.

And if you have family in the business that succession is even cleaner. The note moves seamlessly to the next generation. The firm is happy. Your family is taken care of. And you get the money today when you actually need it.

Do not shoot yourself in the foot by overthinking the timeline.

The structure is more flexible than you think. 👇

They'll hear Schwab or Fidelity, and they're like, "Well, they're the same place." Yeah. Right? That sounds familiar. Sounds familiar. And I'm like, "So get over it." I literally said, " Dude, get over it." Yeah.

Because the difference in money that you're gonna get between switching to Fidelity versus staying at Schwab is millions of dollars. Yeah. Like, your clients are gonna be fine. Yep. They're not gonna care.

Pressure is a privilege.

Think about that for a second.

The pressure you feel right now means something is at stake. Something you have built. Something you care about. Something worth protecting and growing.

People with nothing to lose feel no pressure. People building nothing feel no pressure.

The pressure is proof you are in the game.

Stop running from it. Use it. 👇

This is my version of retirement.

Hunting in Idaho with a close friend while my business runs with good operators at the helm. Still connected. Still part of it. Still working. Just not required to be in every room for every decision.

That is it. That is the goal.

Previous generations treated retirement as all or none. You worked until you stopped. And then you stopped completely. Played golf. Watched TV. Waited.

I cannot fathom that. I genuinely cannot.

The model I am building is different. Operators who handle the day to day. A team that does not need me for everything. And the freedom to be in Idaho with a rifle in my hand knowing the business is not falling apart without me.

That is not retirement from work. That is retirement from obligation.

And there is a massive difference between those two things.

What does your version of retirement actually look like? 👇
