The Moose River Redemption Center is officially opened for business. ☆☆☆☆☆
The Days & Hours will remain the same.
Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

The Moose River Redemption Center is now closed as of this past weekend.

Since Father’s Day 2004, Daryl Giroux has served the Moose River Valley with dedication. He’s now retiring full-time and passing the business onto our son, Jesse Achey. We want to thank everyone who donated returnables to the Brooke Giroux Scholarship Fund. Week after week, year after year, your generosity helped that scholarship grow.

This work is not easy. Redemption Centers can be dirty and messy. But Daryl never complained. He was always pleasant to talk to, whether you were dropping off bags or picking up your money. He truly loved talking with folks from Jackman, Long Pond, Parlin Pond, Moose River, Dennistown, and even Rockwood. The Redemption Center closed this past weekend, and while Jesse prepares to take over, there will be some legal paperwork and state inspections. So, residents will need to wait a few weeks, similar to the usual seasonal breaks, like when we take our vacations.

There will continue to be a Donation Bin for Brooke’s Scholarship and we truly appreciate those donations.

If you are owed money, please stop by this week to pick it up. Do not bring any returnables, as they will be rejected due to the immediate closure.

Good morning! The Moose River Redemption Center would like to send out a huge Thank You to all of the residents near & far for all the donations given to our daughters scholarship. We are no longer having a yearly scholarship golf tournament in Brooke’s honor & memory, so the donations being dropped off are so very appreciated. 😊❤️

A NOTE OF THANKS, TO ALL THOSE WHO DONATE THEIR BOTTLES & CANS TO OUR DAUGHTERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND. 'The Brooke D. Giroux
Memorial Scholarship Fund' Established July 2013.

Thank you, all of you - so very much for the many donations given. We can't express to you how much these donations mean to us. We receive on average, $2,000 to $2,500 per year in donated bottles and cans. We 'give' a $2,500 SCHOLARSHIP each year, to one or more students from our community's graduating 🎓 class.
This is desperately needed to help with many college needs for these young adults pushing forward in their education. Our daughter would be so proud and even overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of a scholarship in her name, and how it helps with the furthering education of the young adults in the very community that she was born & raised in. Keeping Brooke’s name alive through this Scholarship is so healing to not only Brooke’s family & loved ones, but to this entire community who were all effected by her tragic death. After 10 years of a golf tournament each year for our daughter's scholarship - we have decided to no longer have it. The Scholarship Golf Tournament for this very special & very loved & missed young lady is done. This has been a beautiful thing and at the same time, very emotional. So now, returnables from here on out, that are donated, are so appreciated and much needed to keep this going for many years to come.
