PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ — A MESSAGE TO THE TOWING COMMUNITY
This is going to be a longer post, but we hope you take a few minutes to read it.
This message is for all towing companies and tow truck operators, especially those here in Dayton and the surrounding areas.
We need to stand together instead of working against each other.
When a new towing company opens in your area, that does not make them your enemy. This is business. Whether you have been in the towing industry for 30 years or 3 months, none of us owns the entire city. There is enough work out there, and there is no reason we can’t respect one another while doing our jobs.
If a customer calls you for a job you can’t handle, there is nothing wrong with recommending another towing company that can. You’re not losing anything by helping someone out — you’re building respect within the industry.
The same goes for recoveries. If you need extra help, another truck, a rotator, a piece of equipment you don’t have, or simply another experienced operator on scene, call another towing company and work together. That’s how relationships in this industry should be built.
And this is especially important when it comes to our drivers.
If you see another tow truck driver struggling or having a difficult time with a vehicle, check on them. Offer help. Give them advice. Don’t pull out your phone, start recording, and post them on social media just to embarrass them or make fun of them.
Every experienced operator was once a beginner.
Instead of laughing at someone for doing something wrong, show them the right way. You never know — the person you help today may be the person who helps you on the side of the highway tomorrow.
We should be supporting one another, especially small businesses, new companies, and new drivers trying to learn and build something for themselves.
Behind every tow truck and every towing company is a person with a family to provide for, bills to pay, goals to reach, and a dream they’re working toward. Don’t try to tear someone’s business down just because they’re trying to grow. If you see something being done wrong, talk to them. Help them improve. Give them the same respect you would want someone to give you.
At the end of the day, we all do the same kind of work. We work long days, late nights, weekends, holidays, bad weather, accident scenes, and dangerous roads. There are already enough risks in this industry — we don’t need to make enemies out of each other.

Here at Jj’s Towing, we don’t have a problem with any towing company. In fact, we’re proud to have good relationships with companies throughout our area. We respect everyone around us, and we’re always willing to help, work together, share the road, and support others in this industry.
Different companies. Different trucks. Same industry. Same goal.
Let’s compete with respect, help each other when it’s needed, and make the towing community stronger together.
