Received a call today from a mother who was frantic. Her very young daughter had be taken from her outside of a court order by a parent who has some mental issues. This parent was trying to return out of state with the child. Based on the information of a rental car and him being somewhere in Durham we struck out to try to locate the child while a court order was being signed. Eight hours later in the small City of Durham Covington Investigations was able to locate the child and contacted Law Enforcement.
After a short stand off with the Morrisville Police Dept. The parent surrendered the child. The child was returned unharmed to the mother and the Parent was taken into custody without incident. Special thanks to the Durham Co Sheriffs office and the Morrisville PD. Great job.
