βRoundtable Recapβ
This weekβs roundtable began with a conversation about one of the challenges many business owners face in Carteret County: how to build relationships and grow a business in a community where many connections have existed for years. The discussion highlighted the balance between relationships and expertise, and how new businesses can establish credibility while respecting existing networks.
Participants agreed that while relationships are incredibly important in our community, long-term success ultimately comes from providing value, educating customers, and delivering excellent service. Many customers may not know what they should expect from a product or service, making education and communication powerful ways to differentiate your business.
The conversation also touched on customer experience and how small actions can leave lasting impressions. Handwritten notes, personalized follow-up, and consistently going the extra mile were shared as simple ways to stand out in a crowded market. Several attendees emphasized that people remember how you make them feel long after a transaction is complete.
