Helping Seniors Stay Safe and Independent at Home

One of the things I hear a lot is that people want their parents, grandparents, or loved ones to be able to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.

And honestly, I understand why.

Home is where you’re comfortable. It’s where your memories are. Giving that up can be a very difficult decision.

But staying at home doesn’t mean you have to do everything the way you always have.

There are simple technologies available today that can make a home safer and give family members a little more peace of mind.

Things like:

• Emergency help buttons and fall detection that can get help when you can’t reach a phone.

• Automatic lights that come on when you walk into a room, especially helpful at night or when getting up to use the bathroom.

There’s a big difference between a camera you can check yourself and a system that actually calls someone when something’s wrong.
