FREE LEADERSHIP GAME SESSION - for the first 5 takers. Contact me to set up a 1 1/2 - 2 hours of engaging learning.

I was inspired at this year’s International Maxwell Conference (IMC). I had the pleasure to serve as an Ambassador at the Leadership Game booth to provide information on the value of the game. The “Fun Factory Family” worked all 4 days of the conference connecting with the Maxwell community.

🚀 Momentum Monday: Love and Leadership

With Valentine's Day celebrations this past weekend, this is the perfect topic. We plan, we strategize, we envision success. But true momentum begins with that decisive first step – to lead with love.

Joel Manby's book, "Love Works" teaches us that even in the most disciplined environments, leadership fueled by genuine care and respect creates unparalleled strength and resilience. It's the invisible cord that connects the team, ensuring everyone moves forward together. Joel is a successful 25 year CEO including SeaWorld and Saab.

He shares that the best way to lead an organization is with love. This may be a controversial claim balancing the two – But in this case love isn’t a feeling, it’s an action. (a verb). He goes on to state that leaders can lead an entire organization with love and experience almost unimaginable success and personal fulfillment. You don’t have to like someone to treat them with love.

“Leadership is about the bottom line AND … and loving the people you work with. And making our community a better place. And feeling a sense of satisfaction at the end of every day. And leading employees who can’t imagine working anywhere else … The bottom line is best served when leaders lead with love.”

Love is patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving and dedicated.

Lead with "Love Works": How can you approach this task—or your team—with an extra layer of empathy, integrity, or genuine support?

Let’s hit the ground running this week, together. What's your action today? 👇

Momentum Monday: The 2:00 AM Rule

Early in my Army career, I was 100 pounds soaking wet with a dream that felt way too big: Army Airborne School. At that time, only 1% of graduates were women. Every day was a mental battle against a voice that told me to "just trip and fall out" so the pain would stop. I spent my nights wrapping my shins in ACE bandages and icing my legs just so I could stand up at the 0400 whistle.

I learned a lesson in those barracks that I share with every leader I consult with today:

Confidence isn’t a feeling. It’s a byproduct of preparation.

We often want the "Silver Wings" (the promotion, the successful launch, the big win) without the 2:00 AM homework. But you cannot skip the "saturation" phase of leadership.

3 Ways to Build Airborne-Level Resilience:

🔥 Silence the Inner Critic: When your mind tells you you’re done, remember you’re only at 40% capacity.

🪂 Do the Invisible Work: Your performance in the "boardroom" is decided by what you do when no one is watching.

🏆 Commit to the Mission: If the goal is clear, the "how" becomes a matter of discipline, not just desire.

I found my resilience in the skies over Georgia. It taught me that we always have more to give than we think.

What "impossible" goal are you chasing this week? Let’s get to work.

Leadership is a legacy in the making. 🌟

There’s no "Momentum Monday" quite like seeing the leaders of tomorrow start their journey today. This week, my heart is full as a proud grandparent!

Whether it’s taking center stage as the lead in the Christmas program or being recognized as a Student Class Leader, seeing my grandkids step into these roles reminds me why I do what I do. Leadership isn't just about titles; it’s about character, courage, and showing up for your team—even if that team is a grade school classroom.

Let’s carry that same youthful energy and "lead from the front" spirit into our organizations this week.

On Veteran’s Day, I had the honor of participating on a panel at Rotary Club of Gilroy. Captain Luke Powell, Gilroy PD, hosted the event. Thank you to Jana Diakova for the invite to participate.

We had engaging conversation about the transition from military to civilian jobs. Veterans make excellent choices for employers.
🇺🇸 For example, I had leadership training from ROTC, various officer courses and Command and General Staff College.
💪 Additionally I learned resiliency while attending the Army’s elite Airborne School.
🪖 I also served on three (3) combat tours where I experienced comraderie, teamwork and communication.

These experiences gave me the leadership skills necessary to successfully build and lead program management teams in my civilian career.

Contact me to set up a discovery meeting to develop a plan for your unique leadership development opportunities.
