There’s a lot of noise right now around AI search, SEO, and “what remodelers need to do next.”

And honestly? I think some of the conversation is missing the bigger picture.

The residential construction companies that stay visible long term probably won’t be the ones chasing every new tactic. They’ll be the ones building trustworthy visibility from the start:
- real projects
- real expertise
- strong service pages, and
- clear digital foundations

I wrote about that in my latest article:

You just wrapped one of your best projects.

The photos are stunning. The clients are thrilled. Your crew did exceptional work.

And then what happens?

The photos go into a folder. A few make it to Instagram. Your office manager uploads the best ones to your portfolio page. You move on to the next job.

Meanwhile, somewhere in your market, a homeowner is sitting at her kitchen table at 10 pm typing "home addition contractor" into Google.

She has the budget. She's ready to call someone this week. Yet, she's not finding you.

Not because your work isn't good enough. But because Google doesn't know your best project exists.

The fix isn't a new website or more social posts. It's something called a project story — a dedicated, searchable page built around a single completed project.

I've been working with remodelers and builders on exactly this — and the traffic data from real clients tells a pretty compelling story.

NAHB is debuting a new economic resource, the State Projections of Remodeling (SPR), providing a quarterly analysis of remodeling activity for each state based on total dollar volume, market share and change in remodeling spending. See the results of the first edition: https://vist.ly/534sk

If email marketing feels messy or half-finished, this is a good time to reset.

I’m starting a free 4-week Email Foundation Challenge this Sunday — short, practical steps designed for builders and remodelers.

You can join anytime.

This challenge isn’t about sending more emails.

It’s about finally feeling confident that:

- Your list is organized
- Your forms actually work
- New subscribers know what to expect
- Email supports your marketing instead of nagging at you

Email works best when the foundation is solid.

If you want to reset yours in a way that fits real schedules, you can join the free Email Foundation Challenge.

Week 1 starts today, when you sign up.

One of the biggest reasons email marketing gets pushed aside isn’t lack of interest — it’s lack of time.

That’s exactly why I built this challenge the way I did.

Each week is designed to take 𝟯𝟬–𝟰𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, focused on one clear outcome. No busywork. No pressure to be perfect.

If your email list feels like something you should be doing better with — but haven’t had time to untangle — this is for you.

Week 1 begins today - as soon as you sign up.

I’m opening up something new for construction pros who know email marketing matters — but whose list feels a little messy, underused, or overdue for attention.

It’s a free 𝟰-𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, built around the same steps I just used in my own business.

No funnels. No daily emails.
Just 30–45 minutes a week, focused on:

- Cleaning up your email list
- Fixing how people subscribe
- Setting up simple follow-ups
- Creating a newsletter system you can actually maintain

Week 1 starts as soon as you sign up.

I’m working on something to help construction pros get a clearer handle on their email marketing.

It’s the same set of actions I just used in my own business — nothing overly complex, and designed to be completed in about 30–45 minutes a week over four weeks.

If your email list feels messy, underused, or like something you should be doing better with… stay tuned.
